STILL WINTER, THO’ – A delicate portrayal of healing after the pain of love. The bare branches reach upward, signalling the first spark of hope and the desire to live again, even though the leaves have not yet returned. It is still winter – the soul awaits the arrival of spring.
Red splashes, like snowflakes tinged with blood, symbolise the transformation that love’s wounds can bring. The warmth slowly spreading through the planet-body replaces the cold of lifelessness, while the branches curl inward in a self-embrace – a gesture of holding on, loving oneself and moving forward.

• About the original artwork:
This piece was hand-painted with watercolours on paper. It was then scanned and digitally refined in Photoshop – removing any dust marks and replacing the paper background with a clean, snow-white tone for a stronger contrast. The colours were slightly enhanced to bring out the intended vibrancy.
